Kianna Norris

Kianna is a Birth With Spirit Doula and Community Breastfeeding Counselor. She serves families in her communities, offering birth and postpartum support with a steady, grounded presence. She finds joy in the everyday work of motherhood, in learning the rhythms of non‑toxic living, and in cooking good, nourishing food.
Her calling to birthwork comes from witnessing how deeply birth can shape a woman’s life, especially when she has not been fully informed of her choices or given current, accurate information. Kianna is committed to widening access to childbirth education and doula care in her community, making these supports feel close‑at‑hand rather than out of reach. Her hope is that every woman she serves feels more knowledgeable, more supported, and more empowered, so they can move through birth and postpartum with the outcomes and dignity they deserve.

** Kianna is currently on maternity leave as she prepares to welcome her new little one. During this season, our team’s availability is slightly reduced, and not all dates will be open. Whitney’s calendar remains open except for July, which is already booked. We’re still here to help you find the right support, whether that’s fitting you into our own calendar, connecting you with doulas‑in‑training, or referring you to other local doulas, when possible.**

Whitney has supported women through birth and postpartum for more than twenty years, beginning as a volunteer in her own early motherhood and moving into professional, traditional full‑spectrum doula work in 2019. She trained with Birth with Spirit, earning her BWS Doula certification in 2022, and is also a certified Community Breastfeeding Counselor through the Ohio Parenting Collaborative. Her experience in birth work includes hospital births across Ohio and home births with both Certified Professional Midwives and traditional midwives, honoring the full range of how families welcome their babies in Appalachian Ohio.

Whitney’s background spans birth work, education, disability services, and nonprofit work. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications with a focus in Intercultural Communication from Ohio University and has worked as a community resource coordinator, parent educator, and taught Leadership in schools across the region. As a volunteer through the MeRge program, she provided diversity sensitivity training for school-aged children to build bridges of understanding and empathy among children through interactive, accessible education.

Whitney lives in southeastern Appalachian Ohio with her husband, David, and their children. As a mother of autistic children and an autistic adult herself, she centers dignity, accessibility, and community‑held care in every part of her practice.
